A Give Miami Day Message From David

Hello,

My name is David F, and I am a proud member of the Fellowship House team. I was born in Montgomery, Alabama in a family that did not have a lot of money, but we did have a burning desire to make our lives better through hard work and a good education.

After graduating from college with a degree in Business Administration, I decided to move to Miami to open an import/export business. I failed, and this led me into a deep state of depression and paranoia. As a result of this instability, my life took a very bad turn. I got into legal difficulties and was incarcerated. I was then sent to a crisis hospital to stabilize my life.

This is the point where I was introduced to Fellowship House. From the very beginning, I was treated with respect and dignity. Fellowship House provided me with housing, mental health counseling, and case management services that helped me obtain my benefits. I was also given food to eat.

I am now living independently in an apartment that Fellowship House has provided. This program has been a blessing to me in so many ways. I therefore humbly ask the businesses and people who have the financial ability to support this program to please do so. It is a nonprofit whose mission is simply to help. I plan to personally do some volunteer work to help others in need.

Finally, to the leadership of this great program, I want to say that I am eternally grateful for the help you gave me when I was at my lowest point.

Thank you,

David F
