It is the mission of Fellowship House to assist adults with severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities, including individuals that also have co-occurring substance abuse disorders, achieve the maximum level of community integration and self-reliance. This is accomplished by providing a comprehensive continuum of programs and services offering supportive opportunities for vocational and social rehabilitation, as well as residential options, psychiatric and case management services. Fellowship House is committed to helping the persons served (our members), to better understand their illness, develop coping strategies, and improve their quality of life.

Fellowship House was established in 1973 through a Community Support Program grant awarded to the Mental Health Association of Dade County, as part of a pioneering effort to support deinstitutionalization.

Designed after the “clubhouse” model, it quickly became independently incorporated and was designated a demonstration project for the State of Florida by the National Institute of Mental Health.

Since then, Fellowship House has grown into a comprehensive behavioral health organization, offering a broad range of services including employment support, case management, outpatient treatment, and residential programs—serving over 1,000 members each year across South Florida.

Fellowship House serves adults living with serious and persistent mental health conditions, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders. Many of our members are managing diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression—illnesses that can significantly impair daily functioning without ongoing, comprehensive support.

Our programs are available to individuals in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, offering a full range of community-based services designed to meet people where they are—promoting dignity, empowerment, and meaningful progress at every stage of recovery.

We accept referrals from physicians, hospitals, mental health providers, social service agencies, family members, and self-referrals. If you or someone you care about is in need of support, we’re ready to help!

As a recipient of federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SAPTBG) funds, we are also required to prioritize admission for pregnant women seeking treatment for substance use disorders, in line with federal guidelines.

Fellowship House is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, genetic information, age, or disability. Everyone deserves access to compassionate, respectful care. To ensure accessibility, we provide auxiliary aids and language assistance for individuals with disabilities or limited English proficiency—available upon request.
